SIGN UP TO PLAY ALONGSIDE MAJOR LEAGUE PICKLEBALL!

Major League Pickleball and Minor League Pickleball (MiLP) are bringing a series of Regional Showdowns – amateur pickleball competitions that will run alongside select Major League Pickleball season events. These events will give amateur athletes the opportunity to compete in a four-player, coed team format (two women and two men) and a three-player, gendered team format (MiLP v3), following official MiLP team rules.

How it Works:

  • Open to all ages and skill levels – players are placed into divisions based on their DUPR rating
  • Teams may compete independently or under an affiliated MLP Minor League team umbrella
  • Division winners earn a “Dream Ticket” an automatic qualification to the MiLP Championships in early 2027
  • Every match contributes toward the MiLP National Leaderboard for season-long competition and ranking
  • As marquee events, all players will earn double the point system, based on their team’s event placement

FAQs

ABOUT THE EVENT

This event marks the most pivotal weekend of the season, where postseason dreams are either realized or crushed. With both Premier and Challenger Level playoffs on the line, teams will battle for a shot at advancing to the MLP Finals in Central Park, NYC (August 21 – 23).

2026 PREMIER PLAYOFFS

The cumulative season-long standings will be calculated to determine Playoff entrants, with the top 12 Premier teams based on regular season standings points earning entry into the 2026 MLP Playoffs.

The top 12 Premier Level teams will qualify and be seeded No. 1-12, based on regular season standings points earned. Seeds No. 1-4 will receive First Round byes and begin play with the Quarterfinals in San Diego.

In each applicable round, the highest remaining seed(s) will select their opponent and serve as home team, responding to Mixed Doubles and DreamBreaker lineups. Should a best-of-three match series go to a third match, a coin toss will be used to determine the home team, who will get the right to respond to Mixed Doubles and DreamBreaker lineups.

  • First Round (Dallas): Best-of-three match series featuring No. 5-12 seeds in action
    • No. 5 selects a seed from No. 9-12; No. 6 to select next from remaining teams, etc.
    • The winning teams will advance to the Quarterfinals and be re-seeded from No. 5-8, based on number of regular season standings points (most becomes No. 5 seed, etc.)
  • Quarterfinals (San Diego): Best-of-three match series featuring No. 1-8 seeds, following the First Round
    • No. 1 seed will select their opponent from the No. 5-8 seeds, followed by the No. 2 seed selecting, etc.
    • The four winning teams from this round will advance to the Semifinals
  • Semifinals (New York City): Best-of-three match series featuring Quarterfinals winners
    • Highest remaining seed will select their opponent of the two lowest remaining seeds that advanced from the Quarterfinals and two remaining teams will be the other matchup
    • The two Semifinals winners will advance to the Finals
  • Finals (New York City): Best-of-three match series featuring Semifinals winners to determine the season’s champion
